Play Therapy

  • Individual (45 min)

    Preschool on up! 45 Minute Individual Child Centered Play Therapy
  • Group

    1 hour Exloration of the Mindful Brain Social Group. Participants learn basic brain science and calming techniques using a mindful approach. Preschool, Elementary, Preteen, and Teen groups forming now!

Parenting Support

  • Child Parent Relationship Training Individual/Family

    For caregivers: Learn how to connect with your child through their natural language- P L A Y! Information sessions and Filial type play practice sessions are used to help parents become Therapeutic Partners. Parents and other caregivers learn how to do “special playtime” at home.
  • Child Parent Relationship Training Group

    Join other parents (as available) as you learn how to connect with your child using PLAY! “Special playtimes” are often recorded at home- or can reserve office-and then discussed in a supportive environment.
  • Parent consults

    General parenting support for parents whose children are participants in counseling sessions. Child participants’ confidentiality is respected while parents are kept involved in the process.
  • Parenting Resource appointments

    Parenting support and resources provided. Children do not necessarily need to be participants in services

Activity/ Talk Therapy

  • Sandtray Therapy

    Sand tray therapy gives expression into nonverbalized emotional issues that can be stuck. For a person who is unable to verbalize, the sandtray provides a safe medium for expression. No creative or artistic ability is needed. The process of sandtray therapy enables people to consider new possibilities, some of which are not possible through verbal expression. Sandtray therapy is a forum full of self expression and self exploration.
  • Adolescents

    Talk or Activity therapy depending on participant’s preference. Games, Sandtray, expressive arts, and fidget items available.
  • Adults

    Relationship Struggles, Sexual Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, are just some of the reasons that adults seek support. A person centered approach is used in order to provide an emotionally safe place to explore and grow.
  • Couples

    Imago Therapy approach utilized to assist participants to communicate in a way that both feel heard and understood.
  • Family Counseling

    A playful approach is often used to encourage healthy engagement and improved communication among all family members.

Personal approach to emotional healing

Jessica J Sigur, MEd, LPC has decades of experience working with young children.  As a Play Therapist, she has a vast knowledge of early childhood development and works closely with parents and other caregivers, schools, and other professionals in the community.  At this time, Jessica is the sole owner and practitioner at the center which lends itself to a comfortable, individualized experience.

Jessica has worked closely with many families and individuals who have experienced trauma and various life challenges. Some of her work background includes advocacy for survivors of relationship and sexual violence, systemic in-home crisis counseling with youth, crisis response counselor for Orleans parish schools, hospital advocacy for trauma victims, decades of non-profit community work, and 4+ years of Private Practice.

Although Play Therapy is a big component of Jessica’s work- Jessica also enjoys and finds work with Adolescents and Adults extremely rewarding.
